Hotel Almudaina
Located near the Paseo Maritimo, the
fashionable seafront promenade, Hotel Almudaina was built in 1961.
It’s set in the cultural centre of Palma, with the cathedral and

in this area of town - from visiting museums, to exploring the

Hotel Araxa
The Hotel Araxa is in a quiet residential area
of Palma, away from the noise and bustle of the old town. However,

Hotel Born
Originally built as the Palace of the Marquis
of Ferrardull in the fifteenth century, the Born Hotel is

Hotel Mirador
Well placed in the popular Paseo Maritimo,
this four star high-rise hotel has commanding views of the Badia de
Palma (the bay). Although it is down on the waterfront, all of

Hotel Palau Sa Font
For something out of the ordinary, you may
want to consider the hip Hotel Palau Sa Font. Originally built as a
sixteenth century palace, this four star hotel is today a

Hotel Palladium
Overlooking the Paseo Mallorca, this three
star high-rise hotel is right in the heart of Palma. Close to the
exclusive shopping on Avenida Jaime III and the modern art museum (

Hotel San Lorenzo

Inexpensive hotels and accommodation in
Palma
Those on a tight budget may want to consider
these hotels. They provide basic accommodation with limited
facilities. Most of these hotels offer both en-suite and shared
bathrooms.
Hostal Brondo
Located right in the heart of old town Palma
de Mallorca, the Hostal Brondo provides good basic accommodation at
a moderate price. The hotel is near ‘The Born’, the prestigious area
of Palma with its fantastic choice of stylish shops and boutiques,
restaurants and exciting nightlife. It is also just a few minutes

Hostal Regina
In the centre of Palma de Mallorca, this small

Hostal Ritzi
Fabulously located in the famous Calle
Apuntadores area of Palma’s old town is the Hostal Ritzi. The Plaza

This company offers two places to stay in

Hostal Apuntadores
Tucked away in the historic old centre of

Terramer
Set back off the Paseo Maritimo (Palma‘s
seafront promenade), the Terramar Hostal has wonderful views of the
marina and historic Bellver Castle. The El Terreno, with its lively
nightlife, is only a few minutes away, as are the stylish bars of
the Pasea where you can sit and watch the boats in the harbour.

budget (in dorm-style rooms) as well as to those seeking more

Illetes
Some seven kilometres to the west of Palma (and just 18km from the
airport) is Illetes. It is still near enough to Palma to see and
enjoy all that the capital of Mallorca has to offer, but far enough
away that you can relax in rural splendour.
Hotel Bonsol
This splendid four star family run hotel is set on the edge of the
bay. The hotel and its terraced garden gently spread down the
cliff-face to the water’s edge. The traditional interior has a
‘medieval castle’ feel to it, with sets of armour and antiques in
the lounge areas. Down the hill, through the lush green garden,
you’ll find a small sandy beach and a heated salt-water pool. There
is a heated freshwater pool and sun lounge area at the top of the
hill by the hotel. There are numerous outdoor activities on offer
including tennis, swimming, beach ball, and windsurfing – there is
even a children’s play area. Indoors you’ll find a well equipped gym
and a spa.
The hotel has two luxury suites and 92 well appointed comfortable
rooms - the better ones have great views overlooking the bay. The
food at the restaurant is good and should please most palates. It
serves both lunch and dinner. You can also have a buffet lunch (or
breakfast) down by the salt-water pool. The owners, Lorraine and
Martin Xamena and their staff will do their best to make you stay

Hotel Albatros
Situated in a lovely cove near to Illetes is the Hotel Albatros.
This four star hotel is good for both beach and golf enthusiasts, as
it has its own private beach and there are five nearby golf courses.
If you prefer freshwater to swim in there three pools to choose from
– including one just for kids. There is also a beauty salon where
you can have your hair done or try some beauty treatments. There is
also a sauna and a Jacuzzi. Nearby you can try everything from
sailing to scuba diving and wind surfing.
Part of the Barceloa hotels chain, the Albatros has 119 rooms
including five suites; several of these have sea views. Some rooms
are wheel-chair accessible. Hotel Albatros has an a la carte and a
buffet-styled restaurant, as well a piano a bar to relax in with a
drink and look out over the Badia de Palma. If you can’t pull
yourself away from the pool, you can always get a something to eat
from the nearby snack bar.

Hotel Melía de Mar
Built in 1964 and designed by the well known architect D José Maria
Coderch, this hotel is considered to be one of the best examples of
modern architecture on the island. It is currently under going a
major refurbishment which is due to finish by the summer of 2008.
Please check the website for information. The Melía de Mar has one
heated indoor pool and two outdoor pools, as well as tennis courts,
a spa and a gym. Several golf courses are nearby.
Built right on the sea front, this seven story hotel has 139 deluxe
rooms and a further 11 suites. There are three rooms with wheelchair
access. The decor is in keeping with the architecture – clean and
modern. The restaurant Q4 is unique – offering four different types
of cuisine including sushi, slow-cooked specialities and
international faire. The pool side bar offers snacks and a buffet
lunch.

Bendinat and Portals Nous
Further around the bay from Illetes is the quaint town of Bendinat.
On the westerly end of town Bendinat merges with Portal Nous, well
known for its marina. Both towns are still within easy reach of
Palma.
Hotel Bendinat
A lovely traditional Mallorcan country manor, Hotel Bendinat has
tremendous charm. The hotel’s gardens sweep out onto the pool and
sunny terrace. The Bendinat has traditional Mediterranean decor with

Cala Fornells
The costal town of Cala Fornells is some 20 kilometres to the west
of Palma. Built in a small cove with a small beach this town has
become a popular seaside resort. As the cove is protected from the
north wind this area is mild all year round.
Hotel Coronado
Located on a small peninsula surrounded by pine trees is the Hotel
Coronado. This modern hotel has large comfortable rooms, all with a
balcony or terrace. Each room has a splendid view of the sea.
Facilities include an indoor and an outdoor salt-water pool, though
the heated indoor pool is only open during the winter months. You’ll
also find a gym, sauna and Jacuzzi. The Coronado runs a shuttle bus
to two nearby golf course, making it easier to get some time on the
fairways. You’ll find tradition Mediterranean cuisine in the
restaurant, though once a week it does serve up some Mallorcan
specialties.

Hotel Cala Fonells
Originally built with just two rooms in 1947, the Hotel Cala Fonells
has grown through the years and now has 94 rooms. Still run by the
Peña Gayá family who started it more than half a century ago, the
four star hotel has a warm, friendly atmosphere. It is set right
next to the water and it is a great place for playing golf, walking
or cycling. The Hotel is right next to Cala Fonells beach with its
fine sand and calm waters.
The facilities are good at Hotel Cala Fonells with two pools (one
indoors and one outdoors), a tennis court and a billiard room, as
well as the usual gym, sauna and Jacuzzi. You can rent motorcycles,
bicycles or a yacht from the hotel. Other activities such a scuba
diving, horse riding or golf are available nearby. The
Mediterranean-styled restaurant is proud of its delicious cuisine.
