Orient
Heading inland, south-east of Soller, there is the charming little
hamlet of Orient. All around this ancient village you’ll find olive
and almond groves covering the foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana
mountains. The rural village of Orient (consisting mainly of local
farmers) has been transformed in recent years by an influx of
tourists who are drawn to this scenic and peaceful village.
Hotel Son Palou
Located in a 150 hectare rural estate, Hotel Son Palou is an
‘agroturismo’ (a mix of hotel and working farm). Surrounded by
cherry and apple orchards, as well as cultivated fields and

garden blends in with the larger estate to create a quiet and
tranquil oasis.
The Hotel Son Palou was completely re-furbished in 2001, and the
interior has a traditional Mediterranean feel. It has a mix of
accommodation from standard double rooms to deluxe suites. All are
well appointed, and the better rooms also have a terrace. Dinner is
available at the hotel, as is breakfast, which is included with your
room.
As the mountains are so close, trekking and cycling are popular
activities at this hotel. There is a pool in the garden where you
can cool off after a long day’s trekking.
