Active Holidays in Mallorca - Sports and Walking in Mallorca

Although a visit to Mallorca is generally thought of as a ‘sun and sand’ holiday the island offers numerous sporting activities – from golf, to trekking and windsurfing. If you are looking for a more active holiday or simply want to try something new the following companies will help you get the most out of your visit to Mallorca.

Mallorcan Walking Tours

Run by Richard Strutt, Mallorcan Walking Tours specialises in guided walking tours on Mallorca during the spring and autumn months. The company offers up to 54 different one day walking excursions, including the classic Deià to Soller trip. These excursions range from 8 – 16 kilometres. They also cover varying levels of fitness and experience: from C+ (for the generally fit) to B (must use boots to support ankles) and B+ (for trekkers experienced at high mountain terrain) all the way to A (for the very fit who are looking for a challenge).

The company also offers 7 day excursions complete with meals and accommodation. These trips are vehicle assisted so all you will need is a day bag. All of your other luggage will be moved to the next hotel by the company. Mallorcan Walking Tours offers a choice of 7 day excursions. There is the Classic Mallorcan trip from Palma to Pollença, via Deià and Soller. And, there is a south-western Mallorca trek taking you from San Telmo westward to Andratx and Banyalbufar and then on to Cap Figuran.

Deep Sea Fishing: About two hours from the Port of Soller is one of the Mediterranean’s best places to fish for blue fin tuna. A Tramuntana Tours deep sea fishing trip will take you to the fishing grounds and back, and provides all the necessary fishing equipment. Shorter half day deep sea fishing trips are also available.

Sea Kayaking: If you would like to try sea kayaking Tramuntana Tours offers a 3 hour excursion from the Port of Soller along the coastline. No previous kayaking experience is needed to enjoy these trips.
